New this year!
Friends of Feral Felines KS has been busy this year. We now have a building we are leasing which provides space to hold cats before and after their spaying/neutering surgery. In the past, the cats were held in volunteer's garages which limited trapping in very hot and cold weather. It was also inconvenient and time consuming since we had to arrange transportation for the cats from the garages to the clinic and back on the days of surgery. Although we were fortunate in the past that the Kansas Humane Society allowed us to use their education room and parking lot when the K-State Mobile Surgery Unit came to Wichita, we had to take all of our supplies in, as well as transport the cats from the holding garages early in the morning then clean everything up and take the cats back to their holding garages at the end of a very long day. Now, with our own building, everything is already where we need it, including the cats! Having our own space is also allowing us to occasionally provide extended care when there is an injured or ill feral cat.
